Environment Agency Government agency for England and Wales which incorporates the pollution inspectorate. Click on Your Environment and look for the What's in your backyard? feature (the link is quite small). You should be able to type in a postcode and get a map for the general area showing environmental information (eg landfill sites, pollution inventory, floodplain maps).
